How much medicine does a Mounjaro 15 mg pen contain?

Yazen's experience is that many patients are unsure of how much a 15 mg Mounjaro pen contains because it says "15 mg" on the pen. The reason it says 15 mg is that if you take a full dose, you will get 15 mg, which is intended to be taken once a week for four weeks. This dose can thus be repeated four times, so the pen contains a total of 60 mg of medicine.

How long does a Mounjaro 15 mg pen last?

How long a pen lasts depends on the weekly dose you take. A pen can therefore last between 4 weeks up to several months.

How many needles are included in the package?

When you order your medicine via Nationale Apotheek, it comes with 10 needles. You can use the same needle several times, and there is no risk of infection because the needle is so short and only sticks into the subcutaneous tissue. If you want more needles, ask your doctor. If you wish to reuse the needle, leave it attached to the pen and put on the inner needle cap and put the large gray cover back on.

How do I store the pen?

However, you choose whether to use it for longer than 4 weeks.

It is not a problem to have it at room temperature for short periods, such as during a flight, but it should not be exposed to temperatures above 30 degrees, and it should never be frozen. The main thing to avoid is exposing it to direct sunlight.
